Attending a mix of Water and Rope Rescue courses at Outreach Rescue? With a select range of qualifications, you could enhance your career and be awarded a Specialist Rescue Diploma.

Training Meets Academic Excellence

How It Works: Each module of your training at Outreach Rescue will include coursework to confirm your workplace-based application of learning. You'll have 10 weeks from the end of each course to complete this coursework. All practical training must be completed as part of a residential course.

The Diploma is earned through a credit system. After enrollment, selected courses award credits toward your Diploma. Training completed prior to enrollment can be retaken to ensure you stay on track. Earn 80 credits within 4 years to qualify.

Each course in our program is designed to build your expertise while earning you valuable credits toward your Diploma. The table below outlines the available courses and the credits assigned to each, helping you plan your progress toward a Coventry University Diploma.

30 Credits

SPECIALIST RESCUE #1

Both courses can be completed, each worth 30 credits:

30 Credits

SPECIALIST RESCUE #2

Each course is worth 30 credits. Choose ONE of the following:

30 Credits

WATER INCIDENT MANAGER / SPECIALIST RESCUE SUPERVISOR

Both courses can be completed, each worth 30 credits:

50 Credits

SPECIALIST RESCUE INSTRUCTOR

Each course is worth 50 credits. Choose ONE of the following:

20 Credits

RECOGNISED PRIOR LEARNING

Each is worth 20 credits (subject to criteria). Choose ONE of the following:

  • Incident & Search Management

  • Specialist Rescue Incident

  • Management Equivalent with comparable outcomes

The Specialist Rescue Diploma program, awarded by Coventry University, provides a structured pathway to enhance your skills and achieve academic recognition. By completing courses and earning credits, you can work toward either a Specialist Rescue Certificate (40 credits within 4 years) or the Specialist Rescue Diploma (80 credits within 4 years).
