Outreach Rescue recently returned to Northern Ireland to deliver Rope Rescue Supervisor Recertification for Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) — and their new £50M Learning & Development Campus did not disappoint.
With an impressive range of training environments, including a mock motorway crash site, industrial units, residential buildings, and a ship’s structure, the new state-of-the-art facility in Cookstown provided an immersive setting for the recertification training. Outreach Rescue trainer Ollie Cain led the course, working alongside NIFRS personnel to test and refine their rope rescue skills in this state-of-the-art space.
Pushing Skills Further in a New Training Environment
With the campus opening in October last year, this was the first time many of the participating firefighters had the chance to explore its full potential. The three-day Rope Rescue Supervisor Recertification became a learning experience for everyone, blending familiar techniques with the opportunity to adapt to new scenarios and spaces.
From vertical rescues in the 13.5m-high industrial unit to intricate problem-solving in simulated real-world settings, the refresher course challenged participants to apply their expertise dynamically.
