To prepare participants to perform safe and effective rescues from Mobile Elevating Work Platforms.
Utility contractors and MEWP equipment operators.
Complies with HSE regulations for MEWP rescue and emergency planning.
Covers safe handling and evacuation of casualties from MEWPs.
Provides practical skills and knowledge of MEWP-specific rescue techniques.
Working at Height Regulations 2005, HSE guidance on MEWP safety.
Familiarity with Working at Height regulations is recommended.
Aged 18+. Physically fit for practical tasks.
Refresher training is recommended refresher every 2 years.
– Overview of Working at Height (WAHR) legislation and MEWP-specific safety
– Selection, use, and maintenance of PPE for MEWP rescue
– Identification of hazards associated with MEWP rescues
– Assembling and dismantling MEWP rescue equipment
– Operating the rescue device safely, including descent control
– Handling and safely relocating the casualty from a suspended position
