Description
This 2-day course focuses on the practical application of Rescue from Vehicles in Water utilising the skills covered in the Water Rescue Technician Course (Mod 3)
The Rescue from Vehicles in Water course allows for the practical application of the skillsets that can only be covered in theory on the Water Rescue Technician course. The course re-caps on the basic theoretical knowledge in the classroom and then is predominantly focused on practical drills in executing the various rescue methods. This two-day version of the course utilises the full skillsets of a Water Rescue Technician (DEFRA Mod 3), including non-buoyant and buoyant rescue options (such as swim rescues and the use of sleds). These courses are delivered at suitable white water centres which allow a car to be placed in a controlled moving water environment. Delegates will learn hazard awareness relating to vehicles in water, methods of vehicle stabilisation, incident management, and casualty management. Following this training, delegates will have practical experience of rescuing from vehicles in water and will be far better prepared to safely respond to these incidents than the basic skillsets and awareness required at the Water Rescue Technician (Mod 3) level.
Compliance
