The course aims to introduce delegates to the theory and safe practical application of mud rescue techniques, including identifying risks, selecting appropriate equipment, and demonstrating correct usage in rescuing individuals or small animals from mud entrapment.
Emergency services personnel and personnel involved in water rescue responses where specialist mud rescue techniques may be required.
Develops specialist skills for mud entrapment rescues.
Hands-on training with scenario-based practicals.
Utilises standard and specialised mud rescue equipment.
DEFRA Mod 3, NFCC Rescue Boat Code Mod 3
In-date DEFRA Mod 3 compliant award (issued within 3 years)
Age 18+. Delegates must be fit for physical training requiring the delegates to be competent in all Water Rescue Technician (Mod 3) skillsets.
Recertification & Refresher training is recommended every 2 years by means of re-attending this course.
- Lectures and classroom work covering theoretical aspects of mud rescue, including specific risks, selection of specialist rescue equipment, and self-rescue techniques.
- Practical sessions and scenario-based training focusing on hands-on application of mud rescue techniques using specialist equipment and mud self-rescue techniques.
