To assess instructional skills and associated knowledge and understanding required to instruct others in the skillsets of the Rope Rescue Operator.
Personnel who have consolidated the learning on the Rope Rescue Operator Instructor Training and are ready for assessment OR personnel needing to recertify as a Rope Rescue Operator Instructor if approaching expiration of existing award.
Validates instructional skills and competency in rope rescue instruction.
Assesses delegates abilities to plan, deliver and evaluate Rope Rescue training sessions.
Enables successful delegates to deliver safe and accurate training and CPD within their organisations.
BS 8454, Work at Height Regulations, LOLER, PUWER, NFCC Draft Rope Team Type Level 3
Completed the Rope Rescue Operator Instructor Training within the last 2 years AND holding an in-date Rope Rescue Supervisors award OR hold an in-date Rope Rescue Operator Instructors award AND Rope Rescue Supervisors award. All delegates must also hold an Advanced First Aid Award.
Age 18+. Delegates must be fit for this physically demanding course requiring the ability to demonstrate all Rope Rescue Technician skillsets with a high degree of competence.
Recertification & Refresher training is recommended every 2 years by means of re-attending this course. Completion of this assessment at Outreach Rescue satisfies Module ‘Specialist Rescue Instructor (5087EXQ)’ for the Diploma in Specialist Rescue and is worth 50 credits.
- Classroom sessions cover training planning and delivery, the role of instructors, reviewing and assessing, risk assessing, lesson planning, teaching models and legislative considerations.
- Delegates must produce training rescue plans, risk assessments and lesson plans which are assessed.
- A course manual is issued.
- A written paper confirms learning.
- Practical sessions involve delegates delivering training sessions to peers, assessing peers abilities, creating and delivering training scenarios to draw out specific learning outcomes.
- Specialist equipment is provided.
- All practical elements are holistically assessed throughout the course.
This 5-day training programme equips delegates with the skillset to introduce, teach and assess others in the skillsets of the Rope Rescue Operator. This training course should be followed by a consolidation period before submitting for the 3-day assessment to qualify.
This 3-day recertification course provides refresher and update training for existing Rope Rescue Operators and re-establishes competence in the Rope Rescue Operator skillsets.
The 5-day Rope Supervisor award ensures delegates are proficient in basic and advanced rope rescue techniques, and equips them with the supervisory skills to oversee Rope Rescue operations.
The 5-day Safe Work at Height & Rope Rescue Operator course equips delegates with essential knowledge and skills to work safely at height and perform rope rescue operations
This 3-day recertification course provides refresher and update training for existing Safe Work at Height & basic Rescue Instructors and re-establishes competence in the associated skillsets.
