Description
Equip yourself to supervise rope rescue operations, covering advanced equipment handling, risk assessment, and rescue plan development.
This 5-day course is designed for emergency service personnel and those needing to supervise work at height and rope rescues. Combining training and assessment, the course builds on existing Rope Rescue Operator skills to include supervisory responsibilities, advanced rescue planning, and scenario-based problem-solving. Participants will gain proficiency in overseeing complex technical rescues while adhering to the latest safety regulations. The course includes practical exercises, lectures, and assessments to ensure readiness for operational supervision.
Compliance
BS 8454, Work at Height Regulations, LOLER, PUWER
Previous knowledge
Valid an in-date Safe Working at Height (SWAH) and Rope Rescue Operator certification or equivalent.
Requirements
Age 18+. Consolidated experience at SWAH and Rope Operator levels, operational fitness, and readiness for physically demanding training.
Progression
Recertification and refresher training recommended every 2 years. This course satisfies Module ‘Specialist Rescue Supervisor (5086EXQ)’ for the Diploma in Specialist Rescue (30 credits).
