The aim of this unit is to reflect the national occupational standard for a Medium-Risk Confined Space environment. This unit covers both the water and non-watery industry areas.
This course is for personnel with no existing Confined Space knowledge who are required to work in a Medium-Risk Confined Space environment where they will be overseen by a qualified entry controller.
Learn the essentials to work safely in Medium-Risk Confined Spaces.
Get plenty of hands-on experience in Emergency Breathing Apparatus and in the use of gas monitors.
Experience simulated emergencies within various classifications of confined spaces to rehearse evacuation procedures.

No previous knowledge or experience required.
Age 18+. Participants must be fit for training including ladder climbs and moving through enclosed spaces (crawling is required for short distances)
Recertification & Refresher training is recommended every 2 years by means of re-attending this course.
- This course contains classroom sessions covering legal responsibilities, Confined Space classifications, risk assessment and mitigation, atmospheric monitoring, ventilation, emergency procedures and safe systems of work.
- A course manual is issued.
- A written paper is issued which is assessed.
- Practical sessions will include familiarisation with Emergency Breathing apparatus, using harnesses, tripods, winches and davit arms.
- The theoretical knowledge is put into play through delegates completing work tasks in a number of Medium-Risk (NC2-3) Confined Spaces.
- Toe-capped boots and overalls are a requirement.
- All specialist equipment is provided.
- All practical elements are holistically assessed throughout the course.

This course is designed for those experienced in Confined Space working who wish to plan works and to oversee these works.
This 1-day course covers awareness level knowledge of Confined Spaces, to ensure delegates can identify Confined Spaces and be aware of suitable work practices.
This is a 5-day high-level course which equips delegates with the skills to oversee an organisations Confined Space procedures to ensure legal and safety compliance throughout all Confined Space works.
This 1-day course trains delegates to be able to identify a low-risk Confined Space (National Classification 1), mitigate risks and conduct simple entries into these spaces. Gas monitoring is included.
This 3-day course equips delegates to be able to identify and work safely in a Medium-Risk Confined Space, including operating as an entry controller. The course has theoretical input in the classroom and then numerous training scenarios and drills are covered to keep delegates engaged.

This 1-day course covers the basics of working at height through theory and practical sessions covering a broad scope of standard work at height equipment and techniques.
This 1-day course equips delegates with an awareness of Work at Height PPE inspection methods and the practical ability to carry out routine checks on PPE they are familiar users of.
